Nigeria - Pipeline safety
NNPC confirms that a gas pipeline explosion occurred in Aleto, Eleme, on 15 October. Its subsidiary NGIC isolated the affected segment and is coordinating with NMDPRA and other authorities. The cause and full impact remain under assessment; the company advises residents to avoid the affected area.

The IEA Governing Board reports that about 330 million barrels have been released under its March collective action. Members agreed to accelerate remaining releases, with plans including more than 20 million barrels of diesel, and encouraged higher crude and refined-product supply amid continued market tightness.

EIA estimates that US rooftop and other small-scale solar generation reached 92,979 GWh, up from 18,812 GWh a decade earlier. California contributed 37% of the national total in 2025. EIA reports that average monthly wind generation in ISO New England was 68% higher in the first nine months of 2026 than a year earlier. It attributes the increase to additional capacity, with regional wind capacity reaching 2.5 GW.
